Paper Planes

He kisses my forehead and I tremble.
Unprepared to be touched beyond the physical.
I’m inverted now.
His eyes shine brighter than the Northern Lights,
guiding me to places I’ve only ever read about.
High above the cumulus clouds
with no intention of coming down.
His energy collides with mine.
I fight to remain present but my mind
wanders to a future with him in it.
Sun rising while I moan,
his heartbeat is now my favorite song.
Descending into sleep,
it won’t be soon before long.
